As a film student I have seen the Apu trilogy many times in my early years. I came across the original novel approximately 10 years back, and found that there areĀ approximately 150 pages left in the novel wherein the beautiful journey of the father and the son continues.Ā Ā I found myself drawn towards the subject, to make a film out of those forgotten pages.Ā For the next one year I studied all literary works of the author extensively to understand his style, his psychology and his portrayal of human emotions. Ā I had to research thoroughly about the time, costume,Ā production design,Ā history,Ā languageĀ Ā and so many things that would recreate and bring alive the bygone era on the big screen.Ā This film is a humble tribute of a student to his masters.Ā I am thankful to Gaurang Films for giving me an opportunity to make this project.
